JOB DESCRIPTION
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Provides day-to-day supervision and living skills instruction for the residents and carries out duties as assigned by the House Manager or Residential Coordinator. This includes providing training and support for residents to help them attain maximum independence and maintain appropriate documentation. A Residential Supervisor is required to use independent judgment when performing job tasks/providing services and to actively participate in a variety of cross‑functional teams and performance improvement initiatives.ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Assists service recipient in developing an individualized treatment plan that is person‑centered, family‑centered, and service‑centered. Monitors progress and participates in treatment plan reviews. Updates and submits treatment plans for medical review as applicable. Assists recipients in linking with internal and external resources as outlined in the treatment plan and in coordination with Integrated Healthcare Services. Maintains contact with referral sources and provides information on progress, behavior, and needs with appropriate releases. Provides transportation for service recipients as needed. Provides personal care and physical assistance as needed. Attends staff meetings, inter‑disciplinary staffings, and other internal meetings. Participates on committees, including quality assurance functions, and maintains effective communication with other employees as part of the treatment team.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

The Residential Coordinator and/or House Manager assigns work priorities, provides ongoing supervision, and interprets and enforces policies and procedures.GUIDELINES
Board, administrative and program policies, licensure, accreditation, statutory and regulatory standards restrict the position’s discretion in completing job tasks. Staff has the prerogative to propose changes in practice, procedures, and policies that affect their team.DIFFICULTY
Complexity: Position is characterized by a series of varied job tasks, and flexibility is required for dealing with situations as they arise. Scope & Effect: This job affects the physical, emotional, and psychological well‑being of service recipients.PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Daily contact with residents, House Manager, and Residential Coordinator. Regular contact with medical providers, Assistant Director, Program Director, and community members. Occasional contact with donors, advocates, and guardians. Primary purpose of contact is to facilitate resident services, link residents with community services, and gather and exchange information.ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
Physical Requirements: Work is somewhat sedentary but may require standing, climbing stairs, lifting or carrying moderately heavy items, and general house and yard maintenance. In homes with mobility‑impaired clients, personal care may involve lifting up to 75 pounds, transferring, repositioning, and other strenuous activities. Skill in non‑violent crisis intervention is required. Work Environment: Primarily performed in a residential environment, but includes time in the community at locations such as physicians’ offices, restaurants, and stores. Risk due to location of services and potential violence of service recipients in crisis. May require contact with bodily fluids and use of protective clothing.MINIMUM CREDENTIALS/REQUIREMENTS
Must pass spelling and grammar tests and required background clearance checks, including a post‑offer physical. Orientation to population, high school diploma or GED required. TB testing required. For MI residential work, must meet RSA designation requirements and be at least 21 years old. For I/DD residential work, must meet DSP designation and Rule 116 medication administration requirements within 90 days. Must obtain CPR/First Aid certification and maintain it. Valid driver’s license and good driving record required. Must possess computer and keyboarding experience or ability to develop such skills. Employees using electronic health records will undergo a proficiency assessment.WAGE PROGRESSION
