About the Role
The Company is seeking a Managing Director of Humanities for K-8 to join their Teaching and Learning team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and ensuring the alignment of the program vision for K-8 humanities instruction and leadership with the network's priorities. This includes crafting a clear vision that encompasses curricula, assessments, training, and school supports for both teachers and leaders. The role involves managing a team of senior content and grade-level experts to drive the strategy and implementation of this vision across the network's schools. The Managing Director will also be tasked with team management and development, communication and execution of the vision, and ensuring high-quality instructional materials are selected and implemented in line with the instructional vision. Candidates for this position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree, with a Master's degree preferred, and at least three years of experience managing leaders in an educational setting. A proven track record of leading student achievement and deep expertise in K-8 humanities, including the Science of Reading, is essential. The role requires a strong strategic thinker, effective team leader, and a commitment to equity and the growth mindset. The Managing Director will be expected to be a skilled communicator, adept at stakeholder engagement, and capable of influencing change across all levels. The position demands a detail-oriented, highly organized individual with strong verbal and written communication skills, who is adaptable, independent, and proactive in their approach.
