Transportation Manager

Company Description Rich's Transportation Services Inc. operates a multi-temperature 225,000 square foot warehouse with capacity for 25,000 pallets of frozen, refrigerated, and dry products. The facility has been recently upgraded with a fully automated ammonia refrigeration system to support reliable cold chain operations. A 50,000 square foot hi-bay freezer expansion provides additional storage for high-volume and specialized products. The building is fully secured, racked, and equipped with comprehensive fire sprinkler protection throughout, supporting safe and efficient logistics. Team members work in a modern, safety-focused environment designed to support growth and operational excellence. Role Description The Transportation Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Taunton, MA. This role oversees daily transportation operations, including scheduling and dispatching drivers, coordinating inbound and outbound freight, and ensuring on-time deliveries. The Transportation Manager monitors fleet performance, resolves service issues, and maintains strong communication with customers, drivers, and warehouse staff. Responsibilities include managing carrier relationships, optimizing routes and costs, enforcing safety and compliance standards, and maintaining accurate transportation records and reports. The role collaborates with operations leadership to improve processes, support staffing needs, and ensure high service quality and reliability. Qualifications Strong Operations Management skills, including coordination of warehouse and transportation activities and process improvement. Demonstrated Transportation Management experience, with expertise in routing, scheduling, and compliance with DOT and safety regulations. Proficiency in Fleet Management, including monitoring equipment utilization, maintenance coordination, and driver support. Excellent Customer Service and Communication skills for interacting with clients, drivers, and internal teams. Experience using transportation or logistics management systems and standard office software. Proven ability to lead teams, make data-driven decisions, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of cold chain or multi-temperature distribution operations is beneficial. Relevant supervisory experience in transportation or logistics and an associate or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, or a related field preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
