Job Overview We’re seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. Responsibilities Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities. Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns. Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor, ensuring seasonal areas are maintained. Perform opening and closing procedures. Process corporate directives (Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey, etc.) and related communications. Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays. Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, and record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits and receipts). Execute loss prevention duties and secure company assets, including store cash. Maintain the store’s cleanliness, covering bathrooms, floors, and trash removal. Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment and that associates follow company policies. Support the Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and interpret operational directives required. Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred. Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting. Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required. Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment. Exceptional customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills required. Licensing Requirements Provide required background information to obtain and maintain alcohol and/or tobacco sales licenses as mandated by local jurisdiction.
