26-27 Cowlitz Indian Tribe Community Preparedness Specialist This community preparedness specialist will support the Cowlitz Indian Tribe’s Emergency Management Program by coordinating disaster preparation initiatives, facilitating safety and preparedness training, assisting with emergency management research and data collection, organizing and distributing supplies, conducting outreach, drafting policies and procedures, and supporting the development of a Tribal Resilience Hub plan. The candidate will work closely with tribal departments and members across all emergency management functions. Responsibilities Support community preparedness and disaster readiness initiatives. Facilitate safety and preparedness training and exercises for tribal staff. Assist with emergency management research and data collection. Organize and distribute supplies. Conduct preparedness outreach. Help draft policies and procedures. Support development of a Tribal Resilience Hub plan. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Minimum age 18, maximum age 99. Program Benefits Education award upon successful completion of service. Childcare assistance if eligible. Health coverage. Monthly stipend of $3,723. Training. Terms and Conditions Permits attendance at school during off hours. Car recommended. Permits working at another job during off hours. Program Details Start: 09/01/2026 – End: 07/15/2027.
