Director of Nursing (DON)

Schedule:

Full-Time, Salaried Position
Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Flexible availability required for operational needs
Occasional after-hours and weekend support as needed
On-call rotation required for clinical and administrative matters

Responsibilities:

Provide clinical leadership for all hospice operations, ensuring high-quality, safe, and consistent patient care
Oversee clinical departments including home care, admissions, education, and interdisciplinary teams
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, certification, licensing, and regulatory requirements
Lead, mentor, and supervise clinical managers and directors across the organization
Collaborate with leadership on staffing, scheduling, and operational planning
Participate in budgeting, financial oversight, and resource allocation for clinical services
Drive quality improvement initiatives, staff education, and professional development programs
Serve as a clinical expert, role model, and advocate for patient-centered care
Support staff retention, engagement, and performance management strategies
Step in for senior clinical leadership responsibilities when needed

Requirements:

Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in Georgia
Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field preferred (Master's degree preferred)
Minimum of 3 years of senior-level management experience required
At least 3 years of hospice experience required
Strong knowledge of hospice regulations and compliance standards
Proven experience leading multidisciplinary clinical teams
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Experience with budgeting, operations, and performance management preferred
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
