Description

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for an evening-shift hospital OR position supporting a wide range of surgical service lines across 12 specialties.

Details

• Hospital Surgical Services department supporting 12 surgical service lines including general, vascular, gynecology, plastics, neuro, podiatry, orthopedic, cardiovascular, thoracic, ENT, bariatrics, and urology
• Evening shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts from 13:00 to 23:30
• 13-week assignment length
• Call required for 6 shifts per 8-week block, including weekends and holidays
• Candidates will be required to float
• Epic EMR preferred
• Scrubs provided

Requirements

• CST certification required (NBSTSA); license required if applicable
• Minimum of 3-4 years of experience required, with 4 years preferred for Bariatrics, Vascular, Thoracic, Ortho, and Neuro specialties
• 1:1 patient ratio experience
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Prior travel experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Experience with a broad range of surgical procedures including general, vascular, gynecological, orthopedic, neuro, thoracic, urology, and robotic-assisted cases (Da Vinci Xi Surgical System)
• Knowledge of aseptic technique, sharps safety, specimen handling/labeling, and Universal Protocol (time out) procedures
• Knowledge of decontamination and sterilization processes
• Management or lead experience a plus

Additional Information

• Support surgical procedures across multiple specialties including general surgery, vascular, gynecology, plastics, neuro, orthopedic, cardiovascular, thoracic, ENT, bariatrics, and urology
• Assist with robotic-assisted surgeries using the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System
• Maintain sterile fields and ensure proper instrument and sharps handling throughout procedures
• Participate in specimen handling, labeling, and surgical time-out procedures
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be considered for this travel position
• Local candidates are not accepted for this position
• Candidates with more than 10 days of requested time off will not be considered
• Returning staff must observe a 6-month system-wide break between assignments
