Front Desk Receptionist

Location: Citrus Diagnostic Center, Crystal River, FL

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

Citrus Diagnostic Center is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients and referring providers, delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring the smooth operation of our front office.

This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients in a friendly and professional manner.
• Answer and direct incoming phone calls.
• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations.
• Collect copayments and maintain accurate payment records.
• Register patients and update demographic and insurance information.
• Scan, file, and maintain patient records according to HIPAA regulations.
• Communicate effectively with physicians' offices, patients, and staff.
• Assist with medical records requests and faxing documents.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
• Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous medical office or healthcare receptionist experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification is a plus.
• Proficiency with computers, electronic medical records (EMR), Microsoft Office, and office equipment.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy office setting.
• Reliable attendance and professional appearance.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a diagnostic imaging center, radiology practice, or healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with insurance verification, prior authorizations, and patient scheduling.
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
