- Monitoring & Event Handling: Monitor using SolarWinds, Thousand Eyes, Netscout
- Routing/switching (BGP, OSPF, VLAN, STP, ACLs). Exposure to Arista, Fortigate, Cisco
- Manager: Own operations, escalations, SLA governance, stakeholder communication, process improvement
Shift Model: 24×7 rotational
Role Overview
- Responsible for proactive monitoring, first-level diagnosis, and L1/L1.5 troubleshooting. Not a catch-and-dispatch role. Expected to perform initial troubleshooting, attempt first-level fixes, provide accurate findings, update documentation, and join troubleshooting bridges.
- Monitoring & Event Handling: Monitor using SolarWinds, Thousand Eyes, Netscout, Dynatrace. Validate alerts and perform L1/L1.5 troubleshooting.
- Troubleshooting: Run diagnostics, analyze routing issues, validate firewall health, attempt corrective actions.
- Incident Process: Document steps, join bridges, escalate to L2/L3 with data.
- Documentation: Maintain SOPs, guides, diagrams.
- Routing/switching (BGP, OSPF, VLAN, STP, ACLs). Exposure to Arista, Fortigate, Cisco, F5.
- Monitoring using SolarWinds, TE, Netscout, Dynatrace. Strong problem-solving and communication.
Role-Based Expectations
- PA: Runbook-driven L1 tasks.
- A: L1.5 diagnostics, support Client, refine escalations.
- SA: Escalation point, advanced diagnostics, lead troubleshooting, documentation quality.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degrees in CS/IT/Networking preferred.
- CCNA/CCNP
- Network+
- ITIL
