PLC ProgrammerLocation: Houston, TX (Onsite)Exp: 4-10 YrsDuration: 12+ months15% travel requiredJob SummaryWe are seeking a skilled PLC Programmer with strong experience in Allen-Bradley (Rockwell Automation) systems to support on-site automation projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, troubleshooting, and maintaining PLC programs, ensuring efficient operation of industrial systems, and supporting commissioning activities.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs using Allen-Bradley platforms (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix)Configure and maintain HMI/SCADA systems (FactoryTalk View or equivalent)Perform on-site commissioning, startup, and testing of automation systemsDebug and resolve issues related to PLC logic, I/O systems, and communication networksIntegrate PLCs with field devices such as transmitters, switches, valves, motors, VFDs, and actuatorsWork with industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, Modbus)Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and control system documentationCollaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams over calls, zoom and in-person meetings.Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry’s best practicesProvide documentation, including technical reports, program backups, and change logsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree or Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field3+ years of hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLC programmingStrong knowledge of RSLogix 500 / Studio 5000 (Logix Designer)Experience with HMI/SCADA development (FactoryTalk preferred)Solid understanding of industrial automation systems and control theoryAbility to work on-site independently and handle troubleshooting under pressureTravel to sites and stay to complete the work.
