Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 10/05/2026 Duration: 16 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days, nights, flexible, rotating Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity – Medical Oncology Progressive Care Unit RN – Ohio Start Date: October 5, 2026 Location: Columbus, Ohio Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts; shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on departmental needs Highlights: 36-bed Oncology Telemetry unit with over 24 beds dedicated to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) level of care Patient population includes solid tumor, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology diagnoses Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:3 for PCU patients, 1:4-5 for Med-Surg Telemetry patients Epic charting system with GE telemetry monitoring, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds Oncology experience preferred but not required; ICU and PCU backgrounds welcome 72-hour comprehensive orientation provided Strong interdisciplinary support including Pharmacy, Respiratory Services, Physical Therapy, and Rapid Response Teams Requirements: Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission) Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience with at least 1 year of current PCU experience Current certifications: BLS (BCLS), ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale Epic charting system experience required Previous travel nursing experience preferred Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation, accessing ports, blood product administration, central line management, PCA pumps, cardiac drip management, chest tube care, CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management Willingness to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity 2 professional references required (at least 1 from manager/director or formal leadership) Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only) Preferred Skills: Chemotherapy administration and monitoring experience IV and insulin drip titration protocols Wound care and wound vac management Arterial line management Phlebotomy skills Why It's a Great Opportunity: This position offers the chance to work in a high-acuity oncology environment where you'll make a meaningful impact on patients facing complex diagnoses.
