As our Job Coach, you will guide and empower students across a dynamic mix of campus and community-based work sites. You will have exceptional communication skills, a passion for hands-on mentorship, and the adaptability to thrive in diverse workplace settings. Crucial to this role is detailed record-keeping and data tracking—turning your real-world observations into actionable insights that drive team decisions and accelerate student growth!

How you will make an impact :

• Elevate student career readiness by identifying, cultivating, and refining the essential skills required for long-term workplace success.
• Architect pathways to independence by evaluating job site dynamics and collaborating with educational teams to engineer custom support strategies.
• Demystify workplace culture by guiding students through role descriptions, professional etiquette, and workplace dynamics unique to each placement.
• Deliver high-impact on-site training by coaching students through site-specific goals while building core workforce capabilities.
• Foster professional self-awareness by helping students discover their unique career interests, personal strengths, and growth opportunities.
• Convert field insights into action by documenting on-site progress and partnering with teams to strategize solutions for optimal outcomes.
• Drive data-informed development by accurately tracking IEP objectives and co-creating future career benchmarks with the vocational team.
• Cultivate strong workplace alliances by maintaining seamless communication with site supervisors and co-strategizing with the Job Developer.
• Uphold exemplary support standards by flawlessly executing student-specific communication, behavioral, and medical protocols across all community and campus settings.

• Specialized Support Expertise: Deep understanding of accommodations, specialized communication tools, and individual strategies for students who are visually impaired, deafblind, or living with multiple disabilities.
• Strong Community-Facing Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with business managers, educational teams, and student families.
• Practical Problem Solver: Able to manage various workplace situations ,and ability to adjust to help a students succeed.
• Data-Savvy & Reliable Proven ability to collect accurate data in the field
• Enjoy a Monday through Friday day shift schedule

Education and/or Experience :

High School Diploma

Two Years’ experience working with people with disabilities. Special consideration will be given to candidates with experience with individuals with visual impairment or Deafblindness.

Physical Demands :

Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

The following shared salary range is what Perkins reasonably expects, in good faith, to pay for the position. The applicable range could differ based on experience and qualification.
