Human Resources Director

The Director of Human Resources will serve as both a strategic business partner and hands-on HR leader, with particular emphasis on three critical areas: Culture | Employee Relations | Recruiting This individual will be responsible for creating and maintaining a strong workplace culture, building an effective talent strategy, navigating complex employee relations matters, and ensuring HR programs support the needs of a large and diverse hospitality workforce. Key Responsibilities Lead the overall HR strategy and day-to-day HR operation for a large-scale resort environment. Partner with executive leadership on workforce planning, organizational structure, talent strategy, and succession planning. Build and strengthen a positive, service-driven workplace culture focused on engagement, accountability, and associate development. Lead employee relations, including conflict resolution, investigations, coaching, disciplinary matters, and performance management. Develop and execute recruiting strategies capable of supporting significant hiring needs across multiple resort disciplines. Oversee recruitment, selection, onboarding, retention, and talent development. Establish HR processes, programs, policies, and infrastructure that support both current operations and continued organizational growth. Lead associate engagement initiatives and identify opportunities to strengthen retention and the overall employee experience. Oversee compensation, benefits, training and development, HRIS, workers' compensation, and workplace safety programs. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices. Develop and utilize HR metrics to identify trends and provide actionable insights to senior leadership. Lead, mentor, and develop the HR team while building strong partnerships with operational leaders. 8-10+ years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience, with significant experience within hospitality. Strong preference for candidates who have led HR within large-scale resorts or similarly complex hospitality environments. Experience supporting sizable, diverse workforces and multiple operational departments. Background with distinctive luxury, independent, private-sector, or highly experiential hospitality organizations strongly preferred. Demonstrated success building or significantly strengthening an HR operation, rather than simply maintaining established corporate processes. Strong depth in culture, employee relations, and recruiting. Proven ability to operate strategically while remaining visible, approachable, and hands-on with associates and leadership. Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, organizational development, and HR best practices. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, PHR, or SPHR certification is a plus.
