2+ Month Project Assignment

We’re partnering with a nonprofit organization seeking an experienced Learning & Development Manager to support a 2+ month temporary project. This is a great opportunity for an L&D professional who enjoys building programs and can step in to help develop and strengthen learning initiatives.

What you'll do:

• Assess current learning and development offerings and organizational needs to help build a comprehensive L&D framework, including goals, target audiences, learning pathways, success measures, and budget considerations.
• Develop the structure and requirements for a manager training program, including identifying key competencies, evaluating potential vendors, and recommending an approach for implementation.
• Create an employee learning menu with development opportunities across career stages and skill areas, incorporating a mix of self-paced, live, and cohort-based learning.
• Research and evaluate leadership and professional development assessment tools and recommend an approach based on organizational needs, cost, licensing, and implementation considerations.
• Develop organization-specific learning opportunities designed to strengthen employee knowledge, engagement, and professional development.
• Partner with key stakeholders to identify learning needs and translate them into practical, effective development solutions.
• Create a repeatable implementation playbook that outlines programming, budget considerations, vendor recommendations, ownership responsibilities, and evaluation measures.

What We’re Looking For:

• Manager-level experience in Learning & Development, Training, Organizational Development, Talent Development, or a related area.
• Strong hands-on experience assessing needs and developing L&D programs and frameworks, rather than solely facilitating established training.
• Experience developing manager and leadership development programs and defining competencies and learning requirements.
• Experience researching, evaluating, and selecting external training vendors and learning solutions.
• Familiarity with leadership, personality, or professional development assessment tools and how they can support employee and team development.
• Strong project management and stakeholder partnership skills, with the ability to take broad organizational needs and develop actionable solutions.
