Regional General Manager - Newark, CA

EssentialFunctions Responsiblefor all aspects of package gas sales, hard-goods sales, local cylinderproduction, and local cylinder distribution and regional back officeoperations. Responsible for small bulk gas sales in collaboration with RegionBulk Sales Manager (as applicable). Develop andmanage the team to operate the business safely and profitably so MTG has zeroaccidents and above market growth in sales (net market share increase) andprofit while building a sustainable business. Leadcustomer facing activities to aggressively grow profitable sales across theregional business. Select,develop and coach key managers as part of the Zone Management team as well as develop potential top-performers as future manager potentials. Coordinateand collaborate with Marketing, SHE, Supply Chain and Operations teams on safe,efficient, and profitable operations in every aspect of the business. (Includesasset operation and management, identification of cost reduction programs,service improvement opportunities, and participation in key projects for thecompany and zones). Performs other duties as assigned Complieswith all policies and standards Education BSEngineering (Chemical preferred) or Business Administration (MBA preferred), orequivalent experience in General Management and Leadership Roles in IndustrialGas Business WorkExperience Three yearsor more of Sales and Operations Management, P & L responsibility of abusiness/unit, management of large teams of diverse performers required Ten years ormore Direct Management experience in Industrial Gas/Distribution business,either as a manufacturer, distributor and/or supplier to the industry preferred RequiredSkills Computer skills include MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint andOutlook. Leadership - tremendous leadership ability to lead the teams toachieve the company goals of safety, customer service, business performance andemployee development. Align the execution of the Zone Business Plan tothe needs of the organization with the local needs/opportunities in themarket. Lead the business unit to the greater success of the entirecompany as supported by collaboration and communications with other functionaldepartments. Communications - Very strong oral and written skills - proactivecommunicator both in and out of their organization. Ability toeffectively communicate the goals, priorities and results. Financial Analysis- ability to manage the business to the financial goals; utilize financialresources and reporting for investigation and analysis for managerial review -develop plans and implement to effect business results. Manage thebusiness unit to drive financial and organizational performance. Demonstrated success of salesskills in support of commercial activities. Conceptualunderstanding Conceptualunderstanding of industrial gas products, production, distribution applicationsand equipment. Significant training in Safety and Compliance (OSHA, DOT, EPA,FDA) Working knowledge of Six Sigma and lean manufacturing practices. Manage of Managers, Budgeting and planning, Sales Coaching and salesnegotiations. Personnel Management of geographically dispersed fieldoperations and/or significant multi-function operation. Licenses and Certifications Sales andManagement training, Product knowledge, coaching and managing largeorganizations required AnnualSalary AnnualSalary: $150,000 to $180,000 DOE.
