Gift Wrapping and Gift Basket Makers

The individuals who perform this job are responsible for pulling and stocking dry, freezer, and refrigerated goods daily. They ensure the expedition and stocking of deli transfers and invoices in a timely fashion and provide extraordinary shopping experiences for our guests.

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Know and actively demonstrate, daily, our Company Mission Statement and Core Values.
2. Maintain uniform standard, as detailed in the Employee Manual, for all worked hours.
3. Clean/dust shelves, cases, freezers, products, and displays.
4. Maintain neat and orderly sales floor and back stock, know what is running low and what needs to be brought out.
5. Stock shelves and cases.
6. Front merchandise and rotate stock for freshness.
7. Review for out of date items, move close dated products to sell faster, and pull out of date products to transfer them out.
8. Maintain contact with merchandisers; spoilage reports, sales on close dated items.
9. Check price changes and key tags daily, maintaining updated and readable price and key tags on all products.
10. Be aware of upcoming sales; get proper signage up before the sale, and then down after.
11. Set up displays, arrange merchandise in floor stacks, on counters or tables, to promote sales.
12. Update end caps and displays to always be full and shopper accessible.
13. Prepare promotional events as necessary.
14. Work with other departments on cross-merchandising and displays.
15. Check DCI products: See what is on sale and how to quickly get those items sold.
16. Order product in a timely manner: POs and transfers.
17. Check transfer status daily, prepare transfers before deadlines, and put stock out from the transfer truck in a timely manner.
18. Keep track of basket making items, bows, stuffing, baskets.
19. Know and actively demonstrate superior product knowledge.
20. Seek to continually improve related skills and knowledge to contribute to profitability and productivity.
21. Greet guests and engage in conversation with a smile and a helpful demeanor, remembering that the guest always comes first.
22. Recommend merchandise based on the guests needs or desires, with a focus to suggest our in-house brands.
23. Answer guests questions concerning price and use of merchandise.
24. Create client relationships with regular guests.
25. Special order products for guests when necessary. Follow up with the guest.
26. If needed, carry product to register counters and carry out products for guests.
27. May be asked to run a cash register as business dictates.
28. May be asked to receive as business dictates.
29. Work with the receiver to oversee product coming in and to become aware of any issues that may arise.
30. Provide feedback to management regarding fast or slow-moving product, stock levels, out of stocks, and department needs.
31. Prepare sales floor and storage areas for inventory and assist in the inventory process if needed.
32. Properly use and maintain computers and RF scanner equipment.
33. Avoid conversations with coworkers when guests are present.
34. Limit use of personal cell phone to work related activities only while on the sales floor.
35. Carry out directives of management efficiently.
36. Fulfill responsibilities with care and attention to detail.
37. Practice teamwork and cooperation with others.
38. Possess time management skills and be able to prioritize tasks.
39. Ability to manage stress in a fast-paced environment.
40. Work in accordance with all safety regulations of Specs Family Partners and OSHA.
41. Constantly stand, lift, carry, walk, and bend. Reach products routinely weighing 50 pounds or more. Use arms, hands, and fingers to feel, handle, reach, and lift. Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds or more occasionally using proper lifting techniques and tools. Push and/or pull 50-100 pounds or more regularly. Communicate with and understand team members and guests. See product and signage.
42. Other projects and tasks assigned by management.
