Registered Nurse MS III- FT/Days

Location: Memorial Hospital of Gardena, Gardena, CA 90247, USA Job Summary Job Title: Registered Nurse – Full Time. Hours: 3 shifts per week, weekend availability required. Base Rate: $41.73 – $61.35 per hour. 12 hr. shifts: paid overtime after 8 hours, results in an average rate of $48.69 – $71.57 per hour. Sign‑on/Retention Bonus: $10,000 for full‑time only. Responsible for the provision and coordination of patient‑centered care. The RN coordinates care to achieve desired outcomes, participates in patient and family teaching, and provides leadership by delegating and working cooperatively with nursing and other patient team members. The RN demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and service to all patients. The RN actively contributes to department operations and communications, behaves in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Pipeline Health, upholding standards of AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank you) patient communication. Essential functions apply to all RN positions along with additional department‑specific functions as listed. Essential Functions Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs. Accurately obtain and record results of assessment, care delivery, medication administration, treatments, and responses in the electronic medical record. Adjust specialized medical equipment as needed and interpret and record measurements. Monitor vital signs and report adverse reactions to medication in a timely manner. Answer questions and educate patients and families on surgical procedures and post‑surgery care. Maintain and update patient files, medical charts, and health records. Collect current symptoms, detailed patient history and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans. Organize and plan the care of patients, assess treatment rationales, administer medications with accuracy, educate patients. Attend and complete monthly, annual, and assigned training. Perform daily checks and clean equipment such as monitors, code equipment, crash cart checks and oxygen cylinders. Prepare and administer medications following the rights established by the State Board of Nursing and facility policies. Use clear, concise, professional communication with coworkers, patients, all customers internal and external. Use AIDET in interactions with patients and family members. Utilize white boards for patient communication. Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referrals, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs. Monitor patients using proper equipment as ordered. Triage patients appropriately using the ESI (Emergency Severity Index) system. Arrive to work prepared to receive patient report on time. Provide discharge instructions, follow‑up care, and education to patients and family members. Abide by HIPAA regulations. Utilize SBAR when communicating with the oncoming shift, physicians, and other nursing services. Use the nursing process ADPIE to secure individualized and methodical patient care. Speak up to stop the line and escalates potential safety events if necessary. Act quickly, appropriately, and with a sense of urgency and prioritization in the delivery of patient care. Stabilize patients by coordination with medical staff, EMS, coworkers, patients, and family members in a professional, calm manner. May float to other areas of the hospital as assigned. Stock assigned rooms and keep work areas clean. Other duties as assigned. Telemetry Monitor EKG output and keep the doctor informed of any changes. Qualifications / Experience One (1) year of experience preferred in the area applied for. In‑depth knowledge of best practices in area/specialty applied for. Adaptable to changing work schedules and patient needs. Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read and comprehend written instructions, strong organizational skills, ability to follow verbal instructions, and PC skills. Capacity to learn, synthesize, make critical judgments, work independently, place patients and families first, and collaborate with the team members who are recognized leaders within health care. Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing or better in Nursing.
