Job Title: Environmental Service Technician Job Description

The Environmental Service Technician installs, repairs, and maintains baghouse systems while ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operations at customer sites and in a hybrid shop environment. This role combines hands-on mechanical work, frequent travel, and the use of basic technology to document work performed and communicate with project teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform baghouse tasks, including filter bag and cage installation, baghouse repairs, and related maintenance activities as directed by the Baghouse Crew Supervisor.
• Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of all products, installation techniques, and specifications used on baghouse projects.
• Ensure that vendors and contractors engaged on projects hold appropriate certifications to meet safety and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Travel to various customer locations as required and support a hybrid role that includes both field and in-shop responsibilities.
• Attend and complete all required site-specific customer training, as well as internal safety and baghouse training programs.
• Use hand tools, mechanical tools, and related equipment to install, repair, and troubleshoot baghouse components.
• Interpret and work from schematics and blueprints to perform accurate installation, repair, and troubleshooting tasks.
• Document job activities, notes, and findings using a laptop or tablet, and communicate updates and reports via email.

Essential Skills

• Mechanical aptitude and experience working with mechanical systems and components.
• Proficiency using hand tools for installation, repair, and maintenance tasks.
• Ability to perform installation work on baghouse systems, including filter bags and cages.
• Troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve mechanical and system issues.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
• Ability to use a laptop computer or tablet to document job notes and send emails.
• Capability to climb ladders up to 15 feet.
• Capability to climb stairs up to 7 stories.
• Ability to lift boxes, equipment, and parts weighing up to approximately 75 pounds.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• OSHA 10 certification is preferred; training can be provided and paid for if not already held.
• Comfort working in industrial environments with dust, particles, and elevated temperatures.
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly to various job sites.
• Strong attention to safety practices and compliance requirements.
• Ability to follow directions from supervisors and work effectively as part of a crew.

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily industrial and can be dry, dirty, and very hot, especially inside baghouse systems. You will often work in areas with dust and particles and will be required to wear a respirator and appropriate personal protective equipment. The role includes a mix of fieldwork at various customer sites and a hybrid in-shop setting. Work involves climbing ladders and multiple flights of stairs, lifting heavy equipment and parts, and using mechanical tools, hand tools, and basic technology such as laptops or tablets. Dress typically includes safety gear suitable for industrial environments, including respirators, protective clothing, and other required safety equipment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hebron, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
