Senior Substation Designer

Location: Atlanta, GA Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 2 days in office Employment Type: Direct Hire Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM with flexibility Travel: Minimal travel for project-related site visits Salary : $95,000 to $120,000 per year Required Qualifications 4+ years of experience in electrical utility design , with strong preference for candidates with 10+ years of substation design experience . Demonstrated experience designing high-voltage electrical substations . Strong proficiency with AutoCAD . Experience with AutoCAD Electrical . Ability to develop and interpret: Single-line diagrams Physical substation layouts Wiring diagrams Electrical schematics Construction drawings Strong understanding of substation equipment, materials, construction methods, and design practices. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with engineering and design teams. Strong attention to detail and commitment to drawing accuracy and quality. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a project-driven environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Substation Design Suite (SDS) . Experience with AutoCAD Map 3D, Inventor, or other 3D/smart design software . Associate degree in Drafting & Design or equivalent technical certification. Four-year Engineering Technology degree. Experience working with electric utilities, EPC firms, or engineering consulting companies.
