As we expand our retail footprint, we are opening our newest store at Santana Row, Silicon Valley's premier shopping and lifestyle destination. The Role We are seeking a founding Store Manager to open and lead our Santana Row location. This full-time, on-site role owns daily store operations end to end and builds the store from the ground up: you will oversee the final stages of opening, hire and develop the founding team, and own the store's culture, client experience, and P&L from day one. Above all, you will create a warm, supportive atmosphere for expecting mothers, families, and caregivers. The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial retail leader who is as comfortable styling a client eight months into her pregnancy as she is analyzing a sales report. What You'll Do Store Opening Own the opening timeline: fixtures, visual merchandising, POS setup, initial inventory receipt, and soft/grand opening events Recruit, hire, and train the founding team of sales associates and keyholders Deliver and model an exceptional, consultative client experience for expecting and postpartum mothers, including fittings, registry, and gifting Own store revenue targets and performance metrics (conversion, AOV, UPT); report weekly with insights and actions Handle customer concerns with empathy and sound judgment, turning issues into loyalty Build a clienteling program connecting in-store clients to our DTC ecosystem (repeat purchase across trimesters and postpartum) Operations & Team Oversee daily operations across 7-day mall hours: opening and closing procedures, visual merchandising, inventory management, and a clean, organized sales floor Manage scheduling, payroll budgets, and inventory accuracy; implement retail loss prevention practices to control shrink Lead and coach the team through clear goals and regular feedback to deliver outstanding customer service and drive sales Community & Brand Collaborate with company leadership on local marketing initiatives and community engagement (Santana Row marketing, prenatal studios, hospitals, parent groups) to grow store traffic and brand awareness Act as the voice of the Santana Row client to HQ on product, fit, and assortment What You'll Bring 3–5+ years of retail leadership and store management experience - staff supervision, scheduling, inventory oversight, and sales performance monitoring - ideally in premium family-, lifestyle-, or apparel-focused environments; store opening experience a strong plus A track record of hitting sales targets and building high-performing, low-turnover teams Empathy for and genuine interest in serving expecting and new mothers; personal or professional connection to the maternity journey welcome Customer-focused approach with strong interpersonal and communication skills - leading teams, assisting customers, and coordinating with company leadership to create a welcoming in-store experience Operational rigor: comfortable with POS/inventory systems, retail math, P&L basics, and retail loss prevention practices Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak retail periods, with availability to lead the September opening push; able to stand for extended periods and move merchandise High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business, retail management, or related fields is beneficial Base salary: $65,000–$75,000 per year, depending on experience, plus performance bonus tied to store targets Commission eligible, employee discount, and equity in the store's success as we grow our retail footprint In compliance with California's pay transparency law, the range above reflects the good-faith expected pay scale for this role.
