Position Summary

One Source Housekeeping Solutions is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Housekeeping – Public Areas to provide leadership and operational oversight for public area housekeeping operations at a hospitality property in the South Phoenix area.

Working closely with senior housekeeping and property leadership, the Assistant Director will be responsible for maintaining exceptional cleanliness and presentation standards, developing the housekeeping leadership team, managing labor and productivity, and ensuring consistent execution of client and company expectations.

This role requires a highly visible, hands-on leader who is comfortable managing a large operation and driving accountability at all levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in directing all public area housekeeping operations and ensuring consistent execution of cleanliness and service standards.

• Provide leadership and direction to housekeeping managers, supervisors, and frontline employees.

• Ensure all public spaces are maintained to established hotel, client, and company standards.

• Conduct regular operational inspections and implement corrective action when standards are not met.

• Develop and manage staffing plans and schedules based on occupancy, business levels, events, and operational needs.

• Monitor labor costs, productivity, overtime, staffing levels, and overall departmental performance.

• Coach and develop housekeeping leaders to improve performance, accountability, and employee engagement.

• Partner with senior leadership on workforce planning, hiring needs, training, and retention strategies.

• Oversee employee onboarding, training, performance management, and development.

• Coordinate deep cleaning, special projects, and other operational initiatives.

• Monitor inventory, equipment, supplies, and departmental operating needs.

• Build strong working relationships with hotel leadership and other operating departments.

• Respond effectively to operational issues, guest concerns, and changing business demands.

• Ensure proper documentation and adherence to company procedures.

• Maintain compliance with safety standards and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

• Support the Director of Housekeeping and assume additional operational leadership responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive housekeeping leadership experience within a hotel, resort, hospitality, or comparable high-volume environment preferred.

• Previous experience at the Housekeeping Manager, Senior Housekeeping Manager, Assistant Director, or comparable level strongly preferred.

• Public area housekeeping experience highly preferred.

• Proven experience managing supervisors and large frontline teams.

• Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, productivity standards, labor management, and scheduling.

• Demonstrated ability to develop leaders and hold teams accountable for performance.

• Strong client service, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong commitment to cleanliness, safety, service, and operational excellence.

• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays, based on operational needs.
