Job Description
The Production Operator sets up and operates automated press equipment to process fabric materials, ensuring products meet quality and production standards. This role involves loading and unloading light materials, performing basic assembly tasks, and conducting visual quality checks in a modern, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities

• Load raw fabric material into the press machine, handling parts that weigh less than 15 pounds.
• Unload finished products from the press machine in a safe and efficient manner.
• Remove excess material from finished parts and place the scrap (skeleton) into designated recycling containers.
• Perform quick visual quality checks on finished products to identify defects or irregularities.
• Assemble small components into fabric according to work instructions and specifications.
• Follow written instructions and standard operating procedures to complete daily tasks accurately.
• Listen to and follow verbal instructions from supervisors and team leads.
• Work consistently to meet or exceed daily production standards and output goals.
• Operate production equipment and tools safely, following all safety guidelines and policies.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to support product quality and workplace safety.
• Assist with basic material handling, including loading and unloading materials as needed.
• Communicate clearly with team members to coordinate work and resolve issues during the shift.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is suggested but not required.
• Experience working as a production operator or in a manufacturing environment is beneficial.
• Experience with loading and unloading materials or operating basic production equipment is helpful.
• Familiarity with quality checking processes in a production setting is an advantage.
• Forklift or material-handling experience is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Work Environment

Noise levels range from moderate to high, and clear verbal communication is regularly required. Comprehensive safety policies and procedures are in place to support a safe working environment throughout the production area. The standard schedule is built around 8-hour shifts, with opportunities to work extra days and additional hours, including shifts that qualify for double-time pay on Sundays.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jeffersonville, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.75 - $18.60/hr.
