Pediatric Specialty Care - Pre/Post Op Clinical Nurse

Additional Information About the Role St. Louis Children's Hospital – Specialty Care Center locations: West (13001 N Outer 40 Rd, Town and Country, MO 63017) and South (5114 Midamerica Plaza, St. Louis, MO 63129). One team caring for two locations. Work Schedule Full time; nine hour shifts Monday-Friday; rotating shifts with start times between 6 am and 9 am; no set schedule; one day off every week; no holidays, no call, no nights. Preferred Experience At least 1 year of nursing experience Prior pediatric experience Prior Same Day Surgery, PACU, or Ambulatory Surgery Center experience Responsibilities Promote patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educate patients and families on illness or injury management, post treatment home care needs and medication administration. Participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Engage in professional development. Develop, implement, and document individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team, patients, families or caregivers according to established nursing standards. Proactively plan and ensure communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care. Use critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, addressing patient preferences, barriers, values, emotional, spiritual, cultural and population specific needs.
