Position Summary
Solution Optimizers is seeking a motivated and energetic Business Development Specialist (BDS) to help drive growth by identifying and engaging prospective customers. This role is ideal for an early-career sales professional looking to build a career in technology consulting and financial services. The BDS will be responsible for prospecting, developing relationships, scheduling meetings, and creating qualified sales opportunities. The successful candidate will be curious, coachable, highly organized, comfortable engaging with executives and decision-makers, and willing to proactively reach out to prospective customers through outbound sales efforts. This is not a transactional sales role. Successful candidates will focus on building long-term relationships with financial institution leaders and helping clients solve operational and technology challenges.
Responsibilities
- Identify and research prospective banks and credit unions
- Execute outbound prospecting campaigns through phone, email, LinkedIn, and other channels
- Conduct outbound cold calling as a core part of the role
- Schedule discovery meetings with qualified prospects
- Maintain accurate prospect and opportunity information within CRM
- Support marketing campaigns and follow-up activities
- Attend virtual and occasional in-person industry events
- Develop relationships with prospective clients and industry partners
- Learn and effectively communicate Solution Optimizers' service offerings
- Collaborate with company leadership on sales strategy and account development
- Meet established activity and opportunity generation goals
Required
- 1-3 years of sales, customer service, business development, or related experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable making outbound phone calls
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems
Preferred
- Experience selling B2B products or services
- Experience in technology, software, or consulting sales
- Familiarity with financial institutions, banking, or credit unions
- Experience using CRM platforms such as Zoho, Salesforce, or HubSpot
- LinkedIn prospecting experience
