Psychiatric Technician or LPN/LVN

Overview ERP International is seeking a full-time Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) or Psychiatric Technician to support the Naval Branch Health Clinic (NBHC) in Belle Chasse, LA. The employee will provide service in the Psychiatric Clinic at Naval Branch Health Clinic Belle Chasse, New Orleans, LA. Job Location US-LA-Belle Chasse (Naval Branch Health Clinic, Belle Chasse, New Orleans, LA) Responsibilities Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8.5 hours between 7:00 am and 3:30 pm, including a half‑hour lunch break. No weekends, no call, no holidays. Conduct or assist in treatment and rehabilitation of patients, including initial basic assessment procedures such as standardized psychological testing, clinical interviewing, mental status examinations, substance abuse evaluations, and psychological and nursing assessment. Identify mental health and nursing diagnoses, and provide patient education. Observe, monitor, record, and report patient's progress. Conduct or assist in group and individual counseling, therapeutic community, and other related milieu activities. Institute precautionary measures to prevent patient injury or suicide. Assist patients with nutritional, hygiene, and comfort measures. Obtain and record vital signs. Coordinate with other agencies regarding specified care, treatment, prevention, rehabilitation, and administrative functions; contact military and community agencies to obtain collateral information. Explain and interpret mental health services to patients or others. Assist in, or arrange, patient referral to public, private, and military community agencies. Prepare and maintain records and reports pertaining to specialty services. Assist with care of individuals experiencing acute and post-traumatic stress reactions. Prepare and maintain treatment records. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications for LVN/LPN Education: Certificate from an accredited community college, junior college, college, university, or vocational nursing program approved by the appropriate State agency and accredited by NLNAC or CCNE at the time of completion. Experience: One year of practical or vocational nurse experience after graduation. License: Current, full, active and unrestricted license as a practical or vocational nurse. Life Support Certification: Current AHA or ARC BLS Healthcare Provider certification. Security: Ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance. Minimum Qualifications for Psychiatric Technician Education: Certificate from an accredited Psychiatric Technician Program; or equivalent education and experience meeting the American Association of Psychiatric Technicians requirements; or completion of a military or civilian psychiatric technician training course. Experience: One year of experience after graduation. Life Support Certification: Current AHA or ARC BLS Healthcare Provider certification. Security: Ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.
