Description The Licensed Psychiatric Technician, under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, provides nursing care to psychiatric patients by implementing and evaluating the established plan of care; carrying out assigned tasks; working collaboratively with members of the nursing and multidisciplinary team. Salary: $30.67 - $40.48 Hourly Qualifications CPR - BLS through AHA or ARC REQUIRED California Psychiatric Technician Licensure REQUIRED At least 6 months experience in a psychiatric inpatient setting or equivalent - REQUIRED Working knowledge of group dynamics Working knowledge of psychological functioning and deviations from normal Working knowledge of growth and development throughout the life span Working knowledge of techniques of therapeutic communication Operating drug administration Managing assaultive behavior Reading documents written in standard English text Writing legibly in grammatically correct English Speaking to patients/families and colleagues using appropriate English grammar Using techniques of therapeutic communication Observing and reporting patients' behavior Establishing written goals and objectives for each activity Planning and implementing individual, large and small group programs/activities Evaluating patients' strength and problem areas Modifying and/or adapting group techniques to improve individual and/or group treatment outcomes Physically participating in patient activities Physically applying holds, restraints, and protective devices Demonstrated ability to provide individual and group activities to psychiatric patients on an acute psychiatric inpatient #J-18808-Ljbffr
