About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Telemetry Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: 2 years of acute care RN experience License: Active RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Traveler will be required to pass an EKG competency exam as part of compliance prior to arrival. Experience with wound management, JP drains, wound vacs, hemodialysis catheter care, fistulas, PCA, and pain management is required. Description: This is a brand new Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit. Educational opportunities are available for travelers. Patient types include sepsis, cellulitis, DVT/PE, CHF, COPD, COVID, and pneumonia. Occasionally, the unit will see total joints and GI/abdominal surgeries. Patient ratios are RN: 1:5-6 during nights and 1:6 during the same shift. There are 2 CNAs per shift unless the census does not call for it. Support on the unit includes a typically free-floating charge nurse and a hospitalist available for most patients. Charting is completed using an EMR system. IV pumps and medication dispensing systems are available on site. Travelers may float to any Med/Surg area within the facility. Weekend rotation will be every other week. Schedule includes working 4 days one week and 3 days the following week, which is mandatory. Up to 7 days of time off may be requested, with conditions for additional time off. Workers are expected to work 2 out of 3 holidays. Scrub color required is pewter, with specific guidelines for additional work attire. Badges must be worn above the waist and in full view at all times.
