About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour; Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years in Cardiovascular Pediatric Intensive Care Unit License: California License required Certifications: BLS, PALS Must-Have: Must be cardiac trained; Pediatric cardiac experience; Heart transplant experience; Willing to float between units Description: This position requires a start date of November 9. The contract will last for 13 weeks with variable day and night shifts. The traveler must be willing to work 2 of the following 3 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. Maximum of 6 days of required time off (RTO) will be accommodated. The traveler must still work 3 shifts per week. The candidate should have at least 2 years of recent Cardiovascular Pediatric Intensive Care Unit experience. First-time travelers are accepted if they have strong experience. Weekend requirements include 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule. For night shifts, the candidate must work any combination of Friday/Saturday nights. For day shifts, the candidate must work Saturday/Sunday. There is a requirement to have experience in ventilators, multiple monitors, and EKG interpretation. The unit focuses on post-operative cardiac surgical care, congenital heart issues, and heart transplants. Travelers do not take patients during the immediate post-operative period. The unit has a daily census of approximately 30 patients. Candidates may be required to float within the unit to meet facility needs. If the candidate does not have a California license, an ETA for when the license will post is required for submission. The competitive experience includes working with a high acuity unit featuring infants to young adults. All candidates must have the required certifications in hand. Candidates must be willing to manage various cardiac and acute care duties. Pediatric dosage calculations and ventilator management experience are essential for this role.
