Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for senior clients to evaluate their specific needs and tailor appropriate interventions.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions focused on helping seniors deal with the emotional challenges associated with aging, including loss and life transitions.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers to develop and implement personalized care plans that enhance the quality of life for elderly clients.

• Provide education and training to staff and families on best practices to support elderly residents’ emotional well-being.

• Offer specialized grief and loss counseling aimed at supporting individuals and families during end-of-life issues, ensuring compassionate care during difficult times.

• Design and administer cognitive stimulation programs to maintain and improve cognitive functions and overall mental health in senior populations.

Our clients come from diverse backgrounds, and we emphasize a responsive and culturally informed approach to care. Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution is required.

• Possession of a current Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) license in New York State.

• A minimum of four years of recent experience in geriatric counseling, focusing on mental health support.
