Special Projects Manager, Central Region

Special Projects Manager, Technical Operations As a Special Projects Manager in GFiber’s Metro Technical Operations team, you will lead the deployment, operation, installations, and maintenance of a fiber‑optic network for residential and business customers across the Central Region. You will collaborate with city management, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely, cost‑effective, and high‑quality network delivery while adapting to evolving business needs. Support deployment and operation of GFiber's FTTH build by leading Deployment and Operational team members. Ensure alignment of network design, build, and service delivery to achieve speed and budget targets. Coordinate with city officials, jurisdictional authorities, and utility representatives to meet business targets. Lead proposal development, vendor selection, scope definition, engineering design cycles, and design review approvals for FTTH projects. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field (equivalent experience acceptable). 7+ years of fiber network deployment experience (outside and inside plant). 7+ years of leadership experience managing teams and vendors. Strong budgeting, forecasting, project reporting, capacity planning, quality assurance, and testing skills. Preferred: MBA or Master’s degree; 10+ years of industry experience; experience with RFP development, cost engineering, procurement, vendor management, and design of both ISP and OSP fiber networks; experience interpreting fiber test results and auditing projects; track record in operational improvement and complex cross‑functional project management. Compensation US base salary range: $136,000 – $149,600 plus bonus and benefits. Salary may vary by location.
