Software Engineer III

Position SummaryThe Software Engineer III builds and extends the solutions our customers rely on, on top of our payment processing platform. This position works full stack — building APIs and services in C#/.NET on the backend, and features in Angular and/or React on the frontend — while acting as a technical point of contact for the platforms owned. This is a senior individual-contributor role with room to lead within a development team: setting technical direction on your projects, mentoring less experienced engineers, and shaping how the team builds software.Duties & ResponsibilitiesDesign and build full-stack features end to end — from API and data model through to the Angular/React UI that consumes itTranslate requirements from customers and product management into working solutions within our existing development frameworks and architectureAct as subject-matter expert and point of contact for your assigned application platform(s), including direct interaction with customers when neededPropose and drive architectural improvements to new and existing applications — you're expected to bring recommendations, not just implement others'Identify opportunities to improve team process, tooling, and delivery practices, and help drive those changesWrite maintainable, well-tested code, applying SOLID principles and sound object-oriented/domain designParticipate in code reviews and mentor junior and mid-level engineers on both technique and judgmentWork within an Agile/Scrum process, including sprint planning, estimation, and — depending on the team — acting as a technical lead for the scrum teamContribute to and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitHub ActionsDesign and build full-stack features end to end — from API and data model through to the Angular/React UI that consumes itEducation & ExperienceKnowledge of: Backend: C#, .NET (multiple versions/frameworks) advanced-level command, Microsoft SQL ServerFrontend: Angular and/or ReactInfrastructure: Microsoft Azure, IIS, Azure function apps, Kubernetes microservicesSource Control / CI/CD: GitHub, GitHub ActionsIdentity/Auth: Auth0Tools: Visual Studio, JiraAbility to:Demonstrate advanced knowledge of technical concepts mentioned aboveUse excellent written and oral communication skillsDemonstrate ability to cope with deadlines and pressure situations gracefullyEducation and Training:Bachelor’s Degree Preferred or equivalent practical experience4-6 years of professional software development experience, including full-stack workHands-on experience building production UIs in Angular and/or ReactSolid experience with SQL Server as both a hosting platform and a development/query toolExperience with Microsoft Azure and GitHub-based CI/CD pipelinesDemonstrated application of SOLID design principles and good coding craftsmanshipComfort acting as a customer-facing technical point of contactDemonstrate advanced knowledge of and experience with coding concepts mentioned above, ability to deliver high quality multi-tier application solutionsExperience leading scrum teams, mentoring other engineers, acting as customer point-of-contact and technical subject matter expertExperience in payments, fintech, or another compliance-heavy domain preferredFamiliarity with Domain-Driven Design concepts preferredExperience working across a distributed/global engineering team preferredExperience with MongoDB preferredCompensation and Benefits Salary offered is based on factors, including but not limited to, the job duties, required qualifications and relevant experience, and local market trends. The role may be eligible for bonus or incentives based on company and individual performance.
