Shipping & Receiving Associate


Location: Union, NJ
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour (Based on Experience)
Schedule: Monday - Friday | Full-Time | Overtime Available

Job Summary


Express Employment Professionals is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Associate for a growing manufacturing company in Union, NJ. This position is responsible for receiving incoming materials, preparing outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring products are shipped safely and on time.


The ideal candidate will have experience operating forklifts, handling large industrial products, and working with ERP software in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips
• Prepare, package, and ship customer orders accurately and efficiently
• Load and unload trucks using a sit-down forklift and other material handling equipment
• Move and stage materials throughout the warehouse and production areas
• Process shipping and receiving transactions using the company's ERP system
• Create shipping labels, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation
• Coordinate shipments with common carriers, LTL freight companies, UPS, and FedEx
• Perform inventory transactions, cycle counts, and maintain accurate inventory records
• Ensure products are properly packaged to prevent shipping damage
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment
• Work closely with production, purchasing, and customer service to ensure timely deliveries
• Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA regulations

Qualifications

• 2+ years of shipping and receiving experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Previous forklift experience (Sit-Down Forklift required)
• Experience handling oversized or heavy industrial products
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office
• Experience with ERP software such as Epicor, QuickBooks Enterprise, SAP, NetSuite, or similar
• Ability to read packing slips, purchase orders, and bills of lading
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift certification
• Experience with inventory control and cycle counting
• RF Scanner experience
• Experience working with freight carriers and logistics scheduling
• Valid driver's license
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds throughout the workday
• Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, and climb
• Operate forklifts and warehouse equipment safely
• Comfortable working in a warehouse/manufacturing environment
