Woodbridge Middle School is accepting applications for a Science Teacher. This is a full-time, 10-month, benefit-eligible teaching position. The Middle School Science Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and rigorous science instruction to students in grades 6–8. This educator fosters a love of science through hands-on experiments, inquiry-based learning, and interdisciplinary connections, while aligning instruction with state and national science standards. The teacher creates a safe and inclusive classroom environment that supports the academic and social-emotional development of diverse learners.

Qualification Requirements:

• Must hold or be eligible for teaching certification in Science for middle school, grades 6-8 in the State of Delaware
• Experience working with students with diverse learning needs and disabilities
• Strong knowledge of middle school science content
• Ability to design and implement differentiated instruction that meets the needs of all learners
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Passion for teaching and dedication to student success
• Ability to create an inclusive, respectful, and positive learning environment

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Science lessons aligned with state standards and school curriculum.
• Create and maintain a supportive, inclusive classroom environment where all students can succeed.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with IEPs, Multilingual Language Learners (MLL), and students requiring additional academic support.
• Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
• Use a variety of instructional strategies, including hands-on labs, project-based learning, multimedia tools, and technology integration to enhance student engagement.
• Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and staff regarding student progress, behavior, and any concerns.
• Attend faculty meetings, professional development workshops, and school events.
• Deliver targeted instruction to students with diverse learning needs, using evidence-based strategies tailored to individual abilities.
• Adapt lesson plans and materials to accommodate the learning styles and needs of students, ensuring inclusivity and access to the general education curriculum.
• Support the social and emotional growth of students through positive classroom management and the development of strong teacher-student relationships.
• Maintain a well-organized classroom and ensure a structured environment that supports learning for all students.
