Facilities Maintenance/HVAC TechnicianThe Facilities Maintenance Technician is the operational backbone of the maintenance team, championing the upkeep, reliability, and safety of all building systems and equipment. This role ensures that facilities run efficiently by performing preventive and corrective maintenance, supporting repairs, and assisting with system installations. Acting as a key contributor to team success, the Facilities Maintenance Technician drives operational excellence, promotes a safe work environment, and helps maintain the integrity and functionality of facilities critical to business operations.Experience, Education & Job RequirementsTechnical, vocational, or on-the-job training in one or more of the following areas: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, and plumbingMinimum of five (5) years of experience in commercial or industrial facility maintenanceCurrent valid driver's license with a clean driving record,(commercial license may be required)Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and WordTechnical proficiency with work order management systems (CMMS)Current EPA certification or ability and commitment to obtainHigh school diploma or GED equivalent required; associate's degree or vocational/technical school diploma preferredMust pass a criminal background check and hair follicle drug screeningKey CompetenciesMust be able to work in a collaborative / safety conscious environment. Promote a safe work environment throughout the facility and complete all safety training on timeBring a professional inclusive attitude, willing to help others as needed for team success.Willingly accepts and assists with all assigned tasks, demonstrating flexibility, accountability, and a team-first mindset.Technical proficiency and comfort with troubleshooting various HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing systems.Professional proficiency in executing maintenance tasks with accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with safety protocols, while communicating and collaborating effectively with team members, vendors, and stakeholdersFlexibility to provide critical services as neededAbility to multi-task and prioritize work requests and projectsSense of urgency & personal initiative to succeedEssential Functions & ResponsibilitiesThis position requires a high level of HVAC repair & mechanical troubleshooting skillsAssist with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems to include packaging and handling machinery, large air compressors, plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop equipment, grounds equipment, and HVAC systems among othersAssist with installation and modification of building equipment and systemsAbility to review, create, and maintain assigned work orders with associated paperwork within digital computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)Replace and repair building finishes such as ceiling tiles, door hardware, wallpaper, and can paint walls, piping, floors and equipmentInspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions, perform both reactive & preventative maintenanceMaintain and operate fire and life safety systems such as fire alarm systems, fire pumps and related fire protection system equipmentPossess competent knowledge of the use and care of tools and equipment used in facility and grounds maintenanceIdentify and work with potential outside contractors/vendors from sourcing to quotation to job completionRespond immediately to emergency situations and customer service requests as assignedAbility to use technology such as smart phones, tablets, computers, web-based applications, building automation systems, etc.Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives as related to building operations and practice safe work habitsComplete all required safety training as scheduled weekly/monthly/annuallyBring a professional inclusive attitude, willing to help others as needed for team success.Comply with company dress code while working and maintain a neat and clean appearance while on the property at times other than working hoursWork EnvironmentThis role operates in a professional office environment as well as industrial/warehouse type environments both indoors and outside during hot and cold climatesThis role routinely uses both maintenance tools and standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers to accomplish tasksMay be the only maintenance staff member on duty during certain shiftsMay be required to work extended periods of time without relief when responding to priority / emergency situations (including overtime type assignments)May require shift work and / or stand-by on-call dutiesPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
