Senior Program Coordinator (Ocean County)

Position Overview Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey seeks a Senior Program Coordinator (Ocean County) for the Department of 4‑H Youth Development, Rutgers Cooperative Extension. The Coordinator reports to the Chair, Department of 4‑H Youth Development, Rutgers Cooperative Extension. The role provides professional leadership and support to the Ocean County 4‑H Youth Development Program, targeting youth in grades K‑13 with emphasis on Marine Science across Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM); Healthy Lifestyles; and Civic Engagement. Key Responsibilities Performs program planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs, including culturally and academically relevant programs targeting diverse audiences. Utilizes various delivery modes such as 4‑H clubs and community outreach programs. Develops, recruits, screens, trains, supervises, and evaluates volunteers. Performs program marketing and public relations. Supervises paid staff. Creates and supports culturally relevant programs for underserved audiences. Participates in departmental, university, and county administrative functions. Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in education, human/youth development, sociology, science, or related field and two years related professional experience after the degree. Possess a valid driver's license and ability to complete National Safety Council Defensive Driving Course. Experience in youth development programming, volunteer management, and collaboration/coalition building. Experience managing people and demonstrating effective human relations skills. Public speaking and written business‑level communication skills. Interpersonal communication skills (oral and written). Sensitivity to diverse clientele. Self‑directed; able to start and complete projects with minimal supervision. Prioritization and multitasking ability. Demonstrated computer skills. Additional Information FLSA Status: Exempt; Salary up to $75,106; 37.5 hours per week, Day shift; Hybrid work arrangement may be applicable. Special Conditions: Safe Driving Record.
