ENTRY Phlebotomist I

Job Title

Pay Range: $12.75hr - $17.75hr

Requirement/Must Have

• Ability to handle patients with care and compassion while assisting with check ins in the lobby through either a self-service kiosk or handheld tablet.
• Willingness to work both in the lobby and in a draw room with patients to help with breaks that need to be covered.
• Ability to perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
• High level of customer service experience and skills.
• Keyboard and data entry experience.
• Reliable transportation to and from the worksite.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients upon arrival and answer questions or concerns with care and compassion.
• Maintain the integrity of the waiting area and assist with patient flow.
• Utilize phlebotomy skills to assist with specimen collection.
• Create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients in a safe and accurate manner.
• Demonstrate excellence in customer care focusing on sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
• Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
• Maintain a safe and professional environment.
• Maintain required records and documentation.
• Promote a positive image to patients, clients, and the public.
• Assist with check-ins at the kiosk and help patients feel comfortable while waiting.
• Fill in for breaks and cover for staffing shortages as needed.

Qualification And Education

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Phlebotomy experience is required, which may include internship or externship experience.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of client-facing customer service experience (e.g., Retail, Home Health Aide).
