Catering Event Manager

About the Role Event Manager at Butler’s Pantry, responsible for maintaining and executing client catering events and overseeing social and corporate events. Duties include administration of event‑related correspondence, on‑site support, fostering key relationships, and ensuring increased company value and reputation. Key Responsibilities Coordinate with culinary, operations, accounting, and purchasing departments throughout the event life cycle. Work with Sales Manager or Director to ensure accurate BEO creation and administration. Develop floor plan designs, provide logistical support, and support preliminary planning. Become fluent in Caterease, Prism, Nowsta, and other required technology. Communicate via phone, email, and in person with prospective and existing clientele. Oversee catered events, from contract to execution; handle follow‑up. Take over primary communications from Sales Manager after contract signing. Provide input in event sales and planning processes with cross‑functional teams. Plan site visits to design perfect events. Build relationships to execute beyond client expectations. Identify and troubleshoot critical issues before they occur. Maintain professional knowledge via workshops, publications, and networking. Set example and support service staff, clients, and guests at events. Field on‑site questions with vendors and planners. Model appropriate behavior and encourage team members. Support a department climate that attracts, retains, and motivates sales employees. Act as an ambassador of company values, vision, and mission. Qualifications & Requirements Degree or certificate from an accredited institution; 2–4 years relevant experience preferred. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact easily with people. Professional appearance and conduct. Mature, independent judgment; ability to handle fast‑paced, stressful environments. Disciplined with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Cost and quality conscientiousness. Computer proficiency: Outlook, Word, Excel; willingness to learn new technologies. Flexible schedule, willing to work non‑traditional hours. Ability to sit, stand, walk for extended periods. Mathematical skills for calculating figures and basic algebra. Reasoning and common sense to address customer personalities. Passion for event planning and ongoing education in the industry. Maintain positive relationships across departments.
