Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

An exciting opportunity for an Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) is available. This position requires a highly skilled and experienced professional to provide excellent patient care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The ER setting involves handling various medical emergencies and critical cases, ensuring the highest standards of care and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Room setting.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Continuously monitor patient conditions and report any changes.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and mid-level providers.
• Participate in patient assessments and care planning.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to prioritize patient needs and interventions.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and procedures.

Work Environment

The Emergency Room is a Level I Trauma Center equipped to handle high-acuity cases, including trauma, strokes, sepsis, and chest pain. The nurse-to-patient ratios vary by area, ensuring efficient and effective care. The ER features:

• 20 beds, with 5 dedicated to Trauma and additional observation spaces.
• A Fast Track area with 6 beds and a separate triage area with 3 beds.
• In-house security available 24/7.
• Support staff including nurse aides and EMTs.

Shifts and Scheduling

Shifts may include various schedules to accommodate department needs. There is a requirement to float to the Observation unit and the nearby Freestanding ER as part of the role. Additionally, orientation includes one week of onboarding followed by shifts at designated locations.
