Own quality planning, inspection strategy, customer quality requirements, warranty management, corrective actions, traceability, quality reporting, and continuous improvement activities. Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, and customers to ensure products consistently meet performance, workmanship, regulatory, and customer requirements while improving operational quality performance.Core Responsibilities Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) for the panel build operation. Develop and maintain Quality Plans, inspection plans, control plans, acceptance criteria, sampling methodologies, and testing requirements. Establish and oversee incoming, in-process, final inspection, and testing activities to ensure compliance with customer and company requirements. Develop, execute, and maintain First Article Inspection (FAI) processes for new products, engineering changes, and customer-specific requirements. Ensure traceability, device history records, MES/QMS integrity, and documentation compliance throughout the manufacturing process. Administer and maintain quality records including nonconformances, deviations, customer complaints, audit findings, and corrective actions. Serve as the primary customer contact for quality-related matters including audits, complaints, corrective actions, and quality reporting. Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, and similar approaches. Own warranty claim administration, failure analysis, corrective action implementation, and communication of field quality trends back into manufacturing processes. Partner with Manufacturing Engineering and Production to improve workmanship, first-pass yield, process capability, and overall product quality. Collaborate with Supply Chain and suppliers to investigate incoming material quality issues and drive supplier corrective actions when required. Lead Quality Control Technicians through training, certification, workload planning, performance management, and continuous development activities. Plan, conduct, and support internal audits, customer audits, supplier audits, and quality system assessments. Core Responsibilities (Continued) Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, customer-specific requirements, regulatory standards, and internal quality procedures. Develop and maintain quality dashboards, reports, and metrics to communicate trends, risks, and improvement opportunities to leadership and customers. Support new product introductions and engineering changes through risk assessments, validation activities, inspection planning, and production readiness reviews. Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects, rework, warranty claims, and overall cost of poor quality. Establish and monitor quality KPIs including First Pass Yield (FPY), customer escapes, warranty claims, NCR volume, corrective action closure time, audit finding closure, and customer complaint rates. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or related field; equivalent experience considered. 5+ years of Quality Assurance or Quality Control experience within a manufacturing environment. 2+ years of leadership experience managing quality personnel, inspectors, or technicians is preferred. Experience developing, implementing, or maintaining Quality Management Systems Experience with customer quality requirements, audits, warranty management, corrective actions, and quality reporting. Experience leading root cause analysis and structured problem-solving activities. Strong understanding of ISO 9001 requirements, inspection methods, measurement systems, quality planning, and statistical analysis techniques. Experience with MES, ERP, QMS, and traceability systems. Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and quality data analysis tools. Preferred Qualifications Experience in electrical panel assembly, industrial controls, automation systems, or low-volume/high-mix manufacturing environments. Experience with First Article Inspection (FAI), Control Plans, PFMEA, and Customer-Specific Requirements (CSR). Work Environment Hands-on leadership role requiring regular presence within production, testing, warehouse, and quality areas. Frequent interaction with customers, suppliers, manufacturing personnel, and engineering teams. Position requires routine product inspections, audit activities, data analysis, and participation in manufacturing improvement initiatives while adhering to all safety and PPE requirements.
