Commercial Loan Documentation Specialist

Role Overview The Commercial Loan Documentation Specialist at Northern Trust is responsible for preparing and reviewing legal documentation for complex commercial loan transactions, ensuring compliance with corporate credit policy, regulatory standards, and internal guidelines. The specialist collaborates closely with relationship banking staff, legal departments, and external counsel to confirm that all loan terms and conditions are properly documented and protect the bank’s interests. Responsibilities Determine required documentation for loan transactions. Coordinate loan closings and ensure timely execution. Ensure due diligence and audit existing loan files. Recommend improvements to procedures and operational controls. Support training of new team members. Serve as a resource for complex transactions, leveraging in-depth knowledge of banking processes and legal requirements. Qualifications Experience with Laser Pro legal documentation software or similar application in the financial or legal industry. Knowledge of ACBS, IBS, or FIS systems is helpful. Salary & Benefits Salary Range: $52,800 - $79,200 USD (base pay, good faith estimate). Benefits include: Retirement benefits: 401(k) and pension.
