The ideal candidate will have strong experience in public assistance eligibility determination, case documentation, and customer communication and a proven ability to apply policy to complex cases, resolve discrepancies, and deliver accurate benefit decisions within timelines.

Responsibilities:

• Review applications for public assistance programs through interactive interviewing and fact gathering.
• Verify accuracy and completeness of application forms and supporting documentation.
• Determine eligibility by applying program rules, policies, and procedures to case facts.
• Conduct follow-ups with applicants and recipients to obtain required information or clarify discrepancies.
• Explain rules and policies to claimants, representatives, employers, doctors, and state and federal agencies.
• Advise applicants on programs that may benefit them and assist with next steps to receive benefits.
• Document findings, determinations, and communications in case management systems with accuracy.
• Attend in-person training and meetings. Travel may be required for off-site sessions.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience with eligibility determination for public assistance or related programs.
• Strong interviewing, documentation, and case analysis skills.
• Clear verbal and written communication with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to interpret and apply rules, policies, and procedures consistently.
• Proficiency with case management systems and Microsoft Office tools.

Preferred Skills:

• Prior experience in unemployment insurance adjudication or benefits processing.
• Familiarity with state and federal public assistance regulations.
