Shift: 12hr Night Shift - 36 Shift Information 7p- 7:30a Facility Details

351 licensed beds
Teaching hospital
Certified Chest Pain Center
Stroke Center
No trauma designation

Unit Details (Labor & Delivery)

10 beds
Minimum 2 years of experience required
First-time travelers accepted

Patient Population

Labor & delivery cases
Gestational diabetes (GDM)
Preeclampsia
Hypertension (HTN)

Patient Ratios

RN: 1:1 – 1:2 (as per AWHONN standards)
Surgical tech available on unit

Required Certifications

BLS
ACLS
NRP
Fetal Heart Monitoring (AWHONN)

Key Skills Required

Labor & delivery nursing
Maternal and newborn care
Vaginal delivery assistance

Department Support

Surgical Tech support
Charge nurse (may or may not be in staffing)
Phlebotomy services available
No IV/VAT team
No dedicated resource nurse
Respiratory Therapy available 24/7
Intensivist available if needed
Fetal monitoring available on unit

Technology & Equipment

EMR: EPIC
IV Pumps: Baxter
Medication Dispensing: Omnicell
Fetal Heart Monitoring systems
Equipment includes: Novii, Neptune, Bovie, Panda Warmers

Additional Details

Floating: Not required
Orientation: NEO + 3 days unit-specific training
Scrubs: Provided on unit (must change onsite)
Parking: Free, on campus
Unit culture: Strong team environment

Shift Details

12-hour night shift (36 hours/week)
Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Weekend rotation: Every other weekend (EOW)
Holidays: 75% required
Call: No call requirements
Floating: None
Clinical interview: Not required
