About the Position

Job Opportunity – Telemetry Registered Nurse – Georgia

Start Date: November 9, 2026

Location: Augusta, Georgia

Schedule: 36-bed telemetry unit with average daily census of 35 patients; 1:4-5 nurse-to-patient ratio; 12-hour shifts with every other weekend; self-scheduling; up to 7 days of requested time off available (blackout dates apply during Spring Break April 4-12)

Highlights:

• Telemetry unit specializing in cardiac and medical diagnoses including CHF, MI/chest pain (pre- and post-cath), dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypertension/hypotension, pleural effusion, sepsis, and PE/DVT/vascular issues
• Epic EMR system required; also utilizes Pyxis and SBAR communication
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, phlebotomy, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and lift teams
• Must manage cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration): milrinone, dobutamine, amiodarone, Cardizem, lidocaine, Bumex, and heparin
• Contract length varies; orientation hours provided based on assignment duration
• Float to other cardiac telemetry units or other areas within scope of practice as needed

Requirements:

• Current Georgia or Compact state RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of recent telemetry nursing experience; first-time travelers accepted
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with 1:5 patient ratios
• Demonstrated proficiency in managing cardiac drips, telemetry monitoring, post-cardiac procedures, central line care, chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, IV insulin protocols, blood product administration, and wound care
• Competency in interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
• Full compliance with all credentialing requirements must be completed by Tuesday prior to start date
