Accounts Payable Specialist - Kansas City (Hybrid)

The Accounts Payable Specialist - Mexico Accounts ensures assigned transactional and ad-hoc Accounts Payable activities are complete, timely, accurately executed and filed in accordance with Littler Policies and relevant external requirements and regulations. This is a hybrid position located in Kansas City. Responsibilities Assigned transactional and ad-hoc activities are complete, appropriately timely, accurately executed, and related documentation assembled, filed and retained in accordance with Littler Policies and relevant external requirements and regulations. Assignments may include, but are not limited to vendor set-up and maintenance, procurement support, invoice validation, processing and payment, ACH batch creation, travel & expense audit and reimbursement, rush and same-day check requests, spend analysis, month end and other periodic reconciliation, analysis and reporting, and other activities in response to current and future business needs. Only approved payments to approved vendors, for valid expenditures are paid via the appropriate method after all internal controls have been completed. Department policies and procedures are consistently complied with. Inquiries from clients (both internal and external) vendors and other third parties are addressed in a timely matter and appropriately resolved. Oral and written communications are effective, professional and appropriate to the circumstance. Collaboration and communication between accounts payable team members, accounting & finance group departments, and other corporate / firm departments is appropriate in the circumstance and effective. Team members are motivated, seek ongoing performance feedback, training and professional development opportunity. Firm Employee policies and procedures are followed and enforced. Personal improvement, growth and development objectives are set, actioned and evaluated annually. Qualifications Demonstrated mastery of core Accounts Payable concepts, typically acquired from at least an Associate’s Degree in Accounting or comparable field, and / or one or more years’ experience in a high-volume, multi-currency accounts payable department, ideally in a Law Firm or other Professional Services and/or owner managed environment. Demonstrated knowledge of accounts payable practices and policies sufficient to validate, code and pay an invoice using a variety of media, set up and maintain vendor date, research and respond to inquiries and questions and complete account reconciliation, periodic and ad-hoc reports. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, sufficient to complete basic account analysis and reconciliation. Demonstrated ability to leverage Microsoft Word and Outlook to communicate effectively and create and edit documents. Demonstrated ability to execute transactions, and extract and analyze data from Elite and Concur Travel & Expenses. Proven ability to exercise sound judgment in financial and accounting matters. Demonstrated ability to effectively raise issues and consult with department manager to resolve issues and ensure compliance with firm policies and procedures. Demonstrated ability to execute multiple tasks and high workload volume without material impact on error rates or client service. Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and master new processes, steps, policies and technical skills. Demonstrated ability to articulate process steps and draw comparisons between processes and measures of output such as productivity, efficiency and quality. Demonstrated ability to communicate in person and via e-mail and telephone with internal and external clients and vendors, receive instructions and provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact. Demonstrated ability to execute tasks efficiency and effectively within expected timeframes. Fluency in Spanish preferred, not required.
