Senior Environmental Specialist

Senior Environmental Scientist – Carlsbad, NM As the Senior Environmental Scientist, you’ll take a lead role with environmental compliance across air, water and waste for Intrepid’s largest worksite. This isn’t just a job ticking compliance boxes; you will also help shape and advance environmental best practices across the organization, as we continue to scale as an organization. How You Will Create Value In this role, you will develop and implement environmental compliance strategies, manage regulatory reporting, conduct field investigations, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to mitigate environmental impacts. You will also lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance environmental performance, safety, and sustainability. What You’ll Need to Be Successful Demonstrated proficiency leading and advancing environmental initiatives in dynamic environments. Ability to balance both strategy and hands‑on field execution, working comfortably in both a climate‑controlled office and rugged industrial field locations such as processing facilities and construction sites. Working knowledge of the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, NEPA, MSHA, OSHA, and other applicable regulatory requirements. Analytical thinking, strong attention to detail, and the ability to generate solutions using sound judgment. Must be able to gather, synthesize, analyze, and package/present environmental information to internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to inspire confidence and trust as a competent team player. Physical capability to walk/stand for extended periods, occasionally lift 50 pounds, climb, and perform other physical tasks required in the field.
