Position Overview

The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate operation of CNC and automated woodworking equipment used in the production of custom commercial wood doors. This role supports production objectives by setting up machinery, loading materials, monitoring machine performance, performing quality inspections, and troubleshooting equipment issues as they arise. The Machine Operator ensures that all products meet company quality standards while maintaining a safe and organized work environment. This position also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, collaborates effectively with team members, and supports overall manufacturing efficiency and operational excellence.

Main Responsibilities

• Operate CNC and automated woodworking machinery to cut, shape, and process materials according to production specifications.

• Set up equipment with the appropriate tooling and securely position materials for machining operations.

• Enter and verify production data, machine settings, and operating parameters.

• Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to feeds, speeds, and operating conditions as needed.

• Perform quality inspections using calipers, rulers, tape measures, and other measuring devices.

• Troubleshoot equipment and production issues while supporting continuous improvement and safety initiatives.

Skills

• Ability to operate and troubleshoot CNC and automated woodworking equipment.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to accurately use measuring instruments and interpret specifications.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

• Basic computer skills and data-entry capability.

Experience

• 2-4 years of previous manufacturing, woodworking, machining, or CNC experience preferred.
• Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers and tape measures.
• Ability to identify and resolve routine production or equipment issues.
• Experience working in a fast-paced production environment preferred.
