Senior Staff Accountant

We are looking for a Senior Staff Accountant to join our team in Burlington, Massachusetts on a Contract basis. This role will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting close activities, and delivering timely reporting for business stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting judgment, hands-on experience with tax and general ledger work, and the ability to collaborate across departments in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:• Lead core close activities by preparing journal entries, reviewing account balances, and completing reconciliations to ensure accurate month-end results.• Oversee daily cash movements and banking activity while maintaining reliable records that support reporting and audit readiness.• Contribute to financial statement preparation and recurring reporting deliverables for management and operational leaders.• Support both payables and receivables workflows by helping resolve issues, monitoring transactions, and improving accuracy across processes.• Examine financial results to identify variances, research irregularities, and recommend corrective actions when discrepancies arise.• Prepare and maintain documentation for corporate tax and sales tax obligations, including required filings and compliance records.• Partner with cross-functional teams on budgeting support, financial analysis, and ad hoc reporting needs.• Assist with accounting process enhancements and participate in special projects that strengthen efficiency and controls.
