Project Finance Associate

Job Overview A law firm seeks a junior to mid-level associate with 2-6 years of experience to join their Global Projects practice in San Francisco, CA. The role focuses on project finance transactions, particularly involving U.S. Department of Energy financing programs. Duties Represent lenders, sponsors, and other stakeholders in project finance transactions. Structure and negotiate credit agreements, intercreditor agreements, and security documents. Support transactions involving DOE Loan Programs Office financing, including Title XVII and ATVM programs. Conduct due diligence and manage deal execution across multidisciplinary teams. Collaborate closely with partners and clients on sophisticated, high-profile transactions. Requirements 2-6 years of experience in project finance transactions at a leading law firm. Familiarity with renewable energy, power, infrastructure, or energy transition projects preferred. Experience with DOE-backed financings or similar government-supported programs. Strong drafting, analytical, and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams in fast-paced environments. Excellent academic credentials and strong attention to detail. Admission to the bar in the relevant U.S. jurisdiction (or eligibility to waive in). Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Certifications Admission to the bar in the relevant U.S. jurisdiction. Skills Strong drafting and negotiation skills. Excellent analytical and organizational abilities.
