Adventist Physical Health Rehabilitation is seeking a committed and skilled full-time Physical Therapist to join our orthopedic outpatient practice in Newport News, Virginia. In this role, you will provide crucial therapeutic services aimed at restoring movement and enhancing the quality of life for our patients. As part of a dedicated team comprised of two experienced Physical Therapists and one Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), you will contribute to an environment that values quality, compassionate care. We primarily serve a patient population covered by private medical insurance, allowing us to focus on delivering the best treatment tailored to individual needs.

Work Environment

This position is an onsite role, where you will work directly with patients in our modern outpatient clinic. Our weekly schedule runs from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing you to maintain a healthy work-life balance while providing consistent patient care. Each hour, you will engage with one patient, ensuring quality interactions and personalized treatment pathways.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and address the specific goals and needs of each patient through comprehensive evaluations and personalized treatment plans.
• Provide one-on-one patient care, maintaining an effective patient load with a focus on quality over quantity.
• Employee evidence-based techniques and innovative practices to enhance patients' mobility and function.
• Develop customized fitness and wellness programs that cater to the unique circumstances and goals of your patients.
• Utilize manual therapy techniques proficiently to promote recovery and movement efficiency.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including referring physicians and healthcare providers, to coordinate comprehensive care.
• Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of treatment interventions, documenting patient progress and modifying care plans as necessary.
• Maintain transparent communication with patients regarding their treatment progress and encourage them in their rehabilitation journeys.
• Stay updated with current best practices, incorporating relevant research findings into treatment sessions.
• Promote healthy lifestyle choices among patients, focusing on increasing their strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary patient demographic includes individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. By working closely with these patients, you will play a vital role in supporting their recovery process, helping them return to their daily activities and improving their overall quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in Virginia without any disciplinary actions against the license.
• Strong manual therapy techniques and proficiency in developing individualized exercise plans.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems like WebPT, necessary for efficient patient documentation and care tracking.
• Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered approach to therapy.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working in an orthopedic outpatient setting is preferred, demonstrating your capability in treating a variety of conditions.
• Familiarity with sports medicine principles and the ability to apply them in clinical practice.
• A background in health promotion and patient education to enhance patient engagement in their recovery.

Compensation and Benefits

We are pleased to offer a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 90,000 to 110,000, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
