Principal Device Engineer

ResponsibilitiesMaxLinear is seeking a Principal Device Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will focus on the following:R & D in semiconductor device engineering, especially in device characterization for both RF/analog & digital applications, analysis on device/interconnect variability and reliability, and development of SPICE models and PDKTest structure design for device layout/structure optimization and PDK development for advanced CMOS, SiGe BiCMOS, and HV/BCD technologiesElectromagnetic & thermal (including self-heating effect) analysis and SPICE model parameter extraction for active/passive devices, metal interconnects, and substratesCollaborate with internal IC design & DEA/CAD groups to develop & improve PDK and foundation IpsCollaborate with technology teams at Foundries to review and analyze process technology, device characterization, and device reliability dataContribute to generating semiconductor device & PDK development plans and take ownership of project executionQualificationsDeep understanding of semiconductor device physics, electromagnetic theory, circuit design, and advanced process technology (Fin/GAA-FET CMOS, SiGe BiCMOS, & HV/BCD process)Experience in semiconductor device design and characterization, device modeling for SPICE simulation, high-frequency measurements, and electromagnetic simulationExcellent communication, presentation, and documentation skillsStrong ownership to lead engineering projectsBS in Electrical Engineering or related + 9 years of experience, or MS + 7 years of experience, or Ph.D. + 4 years of experienceCompensation and BenefitsMaxLinear has a Total Compensation philosophy which includes base salary and annual discretionary bonus eligibility and many positions also include stock-based compensation.MaxLinear's good faith estimate starting base salary range is: $142,000 to $191,000 AnnuallyWe offer competitive benefits designed to support employee health, welfare, and retirement and some highlights are: health care benefits, 401k savings plan, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), and paid time off.The actual starting base salary will be determined by the match to certain role-related criteria such as educational degree(s) or equivalent, relevant work experience, skillset needed for the role, and geographic location; this is not an all-inclusive list as some roles may require unique skills or experience.Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to, and will not be discriminated against based on race, sex, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or protected veteran status.Company OverviewMaxLinear is a global, NASDAQ-traded company (MXL) where the entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well.
